Brandy Station,Virginia , Robert E. Lee, J.E.B. Stuart and Lee's party thundered down a three mile long line of troops with 10,000 glittering sabers in the air. The flag of the Army of Northern Virginia, commonly called the Confederate Battle flag, is prominently displayed in the picture. Most of the Southern cavalry was camped near Brandy Station. This grand review on June 5, 1863 preceded the Battle of Brandy Station on June 9. The battlefield remains today almost as it was in 1863 with the addition of a police station on the grounds.
